Abstract

This research discusses about inflectional and derivational morpheme on recount writing of the students eight grades of junior high school in metro. The purpose of this study are (1) To know how many the kinds of inflectional and derivational morpheme on Recount Writing of the Students Eight Grades of Junior High School kartikatama in Metro. (2) To describe what are the most dominant of inflectional and derivational morpheme on Recount Writing of the Students Eight Grades of Junior High School kartikatama in Metro. Which defined by Fromkin et al theory.

The object of this study was recount writing of the students eight grades of junior high school kartikatama in metro. To analyze the data, this study used descriptive qualitative research. The result of the research shows that researcher found 125 data. There are 89 inflectional data and 36 derivational data. The kinds of inflectional that researcher found are -ed (53 data), -ing (9 data),-s/es (25 data)-‘s (2 data) and kinds of derivational are Noun to Adjective (5 data), Verb to Noun (2 data), Adjective to Adverb (18 data) Noun to Verb (4 data) Adjective to Noun (2) Adjective to Adjective (1) Verb to Adjective (1) Verb to Adverb (3).
