Abstract
The primary goal of this research is to know the influence of the communicative language teaching (CLT) towards the students' speaking performance at seventh graders in SMP TMI Roudlotul Qur'an of Metro Berat in the academic year of 2012/2013. In every speaking performance, the understanding of elements of speaking is extremely needed especially about fluency Accuracy, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, articulation.
The approach of this research is quantitative design study. Cluster random sampling used to take one class and 30 students as the sample of this research. In the way to collect data, firstly the researcher give a pre-test, in this pre-test the researcher ask the students to make the dialogue with their partner. The second, the researcher give a post-test, in this post• test the researcher give text dialogue and ask the students to present in front of the class. In addition, the result of the research "tobserved" = 6.210 and "ttable" 2.064 it's means that "tobserved" is higher than "ttable" it can be inferred that hypothesis is accepted.
The result of this research shows that there are any positive and significant the influence of the communicative language teaching (CLT) towards the students speaking performance at seventh graders in SMP TMI Roudlotul Qur'an of Metro Barat in the academic year of 2012/2013 is good enough. There were several students could understand with the pattern of element in speaking how to speak in a good way even though by them self or with their partner whereas the others one has still has low understanding about it.
