Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Readable application as a teaching media on the reading comprehension abilities of students at SMK Negeri 1 Sekampung. The background of this research highlights the difficulties students face in understanding reading texts, such as low reading interest and limited vocabulary. Therefore, the Readable application is used to evaluate its effectiveness in improving reading comprehension.

The research use a quantitative approach. The subjects consist of two groups: an experimental group that use the Readable application and a control group that use conventional teaching methods. The data collection technique consist of observation, test, and documentation.

The research results showed that the experimental group using the Readable application had an average post-test score of 76.67, while the control group only achieved an average of 62.00. The analysis using independent t-test showed a significant difference in post-test results between the two groups, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the use of the Readable application has a positive and significant effect on students' reading comprehension.
