Abstract

Writing plays a prominent part in communication. It becomes one of the ways to share the ideas. One of the method to get the many ideas from writing is write a daily diary. Diary is one of instrumentsto gct data. To increase students motivation in writing diary, writer give stimulate as a Freedom Writer Movie.

This research was aimed at describing students Writing Diary Motivation's phenomena related to Freedom Writer Movie. It relates to the based condition of students who are lack of motivation writing, a few students have writing their diary every day, and nobody write the diary in English Language.

The data collecting methods used interview and documentation. The research was conducted toward thirty of the tenth grade of first semester in MAN I Metro, in academi: year 20152016. After classifying the data, the writer found the frequency of students' writing diary was 28 students is excellence, 2 good, 43 fair, and 2 poer.

Therefore, the result of the research showed that the students' habit in writing also influences the writing quality. The students need to increase their motivation in writing with the media as a movie. Writing habit should bc applied toward the students by writing diary method.
