Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the students‟ vocabulary at the third grade of SDIT Wahdatul Ummah Metro and to know what extend the Drill Technique could help the students‟ learning process. The writer tries to attest that Drill Technique can be one of the teaching technique to improve the students‟ vocabulary.This research was classroom action research.

The research has conducted at SDIT Wahdatul Ummah Metro. The subject is thirty students of class III Al-Jabbar. This classroom action research consisted of 2 cycles. The research procedures included as planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In collecting the data, the researcher used test (pre-test and post-test), observation and documentation.

Findings research shows, from the analysis of pre-test, the result averages of pre test (55,5) and only 4students got score at least 75. After gave the treatment (55,5 increased 65,83) it improved 10,33 point and 12students got score at least 75. The resultof post test 2 at cycle 2 (78) and 26students got score more than 75. The increase from post test 1 to post test 2 (65,83 increased 78) and it improved 12,17point and 26 students got score at least 75.The conclusion of the research is the target of English learning has achieved because 85% students passed the post test 2. It could be said that Drill Technique gave positive in English Learning. By using drill technique can improve students‟ vocabulary.
