Abstract

The main purpose of this research was to investigate the students’ reading ability at MA-PSA Istiqomah Islamiyah Panaragan Jaya in comprehending the information from reading text and to know that Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) Techniquecould help the students’ learning process. The researcher tried to prove that that Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) can be one of the techniques to increase the students’ reading comprehension ability.

In this research, the researcher conducted classroom action research (CAR) which was done in two cycles. Each cycle consist of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subject of research was 21 students in tenth grade of MA-PSA Istiqomah Islamiyah Panaragan Jaya. In collecting data, the researcher used test including pre-test, post-test I and pos-test II, observation and documentation. The researcher wasconducted collaboration with the English teacher of MA-PSA Istiqomah Islamiyah Panaragan Jaya.

And then, the result of this research showed that Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) Techniquehad positive result in increasing the students’ reading comprehension ability at the tenth grade of MA-PSA Istiqomah Islamiyah Panaragan Jaya. It could be proven by the students’ average score that reached in pre-test was 48,66, post-test I was 58,66 and become 76,61 in post-test II. It can be concluded that through Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) Techniquecan increase the students’ reading comprehension ability.
