Abstract

The Objective of this research is to know that Mingle Game strategy can influence the students’ speaking performance. The researcher realizes that Mingle Game strategy could be one of the strategies in teaching speaking learning process.

This research is quantitative research with the true experimental design, by applying pre-test and post-test as the instrument. The data was analyzed by using t-testformula that enable to investigatea positive influence from the traetmentby investigating the differences between the experimental group which received the treatment(Mingle Game strategy)and the control group whichdidn’t receivethe treatment.Beside that, the researcher also analyzed the data by using Chi-Squareformula to investigatea significant influence from the treatment by investigating the significant differences of students pre-test and post-test score (before and after the treatment) in experimental class.

Finally, the result of data analysis from t-test formula illustrates that t observed=6,984 is higher thant tablewiththe significant level of 5% = 2,67373and 1% = 2,4002.Thus, it can be inferred that there is a positive ifluence. Then, the result of data anlysis from Chi-Squareformula illustratesthat ????????observed= 36,008is higher than ????????tablewiththe significant level of 5% = 5.99 and 1% =9.21. It means that there isa significant influence.Therefore, the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. With the result that there is a positive and significant influence of using Mingle Game strategytoward the students’speaking performanceat the tenthgradeof SMA N 1 PunggurCentral Lampung.
