Abstract
The aim of this research was to implement the self regulated learning strategyand analyze its influence in the students‘reading comprehension ability inreading text atthe eighth graders of MTs Al-AsrorSekampung. In this research, the writer gave pretest to know the students‘ ability in understanding reading text and post test to know the result of the students‘ ability in reading text after giving the treatment that was self regulated learning strategy. This research was quantitative research which had been conducted in MTs Al-AsrorSekampungat the class VIIIB and followed by 18students as the sample. The technique sampling waspurposive clustering sampling. In collecting the data, the writerused test. The writer used test to get the data ofstudents‘ reading comprehension abilitythrough thequestions which consisted of 10 essayabout the reading text. This test was used to find out whether the self regulated learning strategywas suitable and could be used by the students in comprehending the reading text. The researcher used Chi-square and T-test formula to analyze the data.
Finally, the data indicated ―????????observed =13.38was higher than ―????????table= 5,991(5%), and 9,210 (1%) that tobserved= 9.25was higher than ttable = 2.110(5%), and 2.898(1%). It mean that self regulated learning strategycan influence on the students‘ reading comprehension ability at the eighth gradersofMTs Al-AsrorSekampung.
