Abstract
The primary goal of this research was to investigate the influence of usingguessing gametechnique toward the students vocabulary mastery.This research is quantitative research conducted at theseventh grade of junior high school 9 Metro that involves of 30students as the samples. The techniquesampling used cluster purposive sampling. In this research the data were collected by test, observationand documentation. The data were analyzed by chi-square and t-test formula.
The finding of the research indicates that there is positive and significant influence of using guessing gametechnique towards the students‟ vocabulary mastery, and alternative hypothesis is accepted. It is proved by the data analysis illustrating thatthe critical value “χ2observed” =82,96and “χ2table” (5%) 9,488and 1%13,227. The data confirmed that “χ2observed” was higgherthan “χ2table”.Consequently, shown the comparison of χ2bar with χ2table was: 9,488<82,96>13,227in 5% and 1% significance. According to the result, the students should masterin guessing gametechnique to master vocabulary.
