Abstract

Recount text writing ability is a ability of the students in making recount text. It is ability that is very well, because may this ability, students are able to answering their idea in a paper. However, students are often seeing problems to memorizingthis ability. It caused by several problems such as: teacher has not many various media to teach writing ability, the students are difficulties to write because they just have a little bit of vocabulary, and etc. Therefore, to increase their recount text writing ability, the researcher used word wall media in learning process.This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). In this Classroom Action Research was done in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The research aims to know the level of writing ability and to find out the increasing writing ability in writing recount text through the wordwall media. The subject of this research is the students of class VIII D in MTs Tri Bhakti At-taqwa East Lampung. And the research asked Mrs.Zulfanil Azizah as collaborator in this research. Then to collect data the researcher uses test (pre-test and post-test), observation, documentation and filed note.

The result of this research showed that the average score of pre-test and post-test is increasing;. The average score at pre-test 58.26 and in post-test 1 63.91, it increases 5.65 point. And then the average score at post-test 2 74.56, it increases 10.65 point better than post-test 1. While, the percentage of the students pass at the pre-test 21.73% of total students, and at post-test 1 52.17% and then, at post-test 2 86.95% students who are able passed the exam. Based on the result above, it can be said that word wall media can increase recount text writing abilities. This media make students are interested and motivated in the class. So that, they fell so enjoy doing the task. And it also makes them easier in studying the material.
