Abstract

The purpose of this research is to show the improvement of the students‟ recount text Writing skill and learning activities using Holiday Picture as the media. The problems of this research isthe students have difficulties to express their ideas in English written text. By using Holiday Picture as the media, the students can share information and ideas with others through written text especially, in recount text writing skill. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is used to solve the students‟ problem in writing skill. The subjects of this research areVIII A students of SMP Purnama Trimurjo Central Lampung. The research instruments used to collect the data in this research aretest, observation and documentation. The findingsresearch showsthat the implementation of Holiday Pictureissuccessful since the criteriaof success areachieved. The first criterion is that some70% of the students canpass the target score of which is ≥70 based ofthe MMC. The finding showsthat 85% of the students areachieved the target score. In another side, the second criterion is the students who become more active in the learning process. Using Holiday Pictureis the media that can improve the recount text writing skill.
