Abstract
The objective of this research is to know whether the charades game canimprove the vocabulary mastery in teaching learning process. The object of thisresearch was forty students of eigth grade B at MTs. Pelita Gedongtataan inAcademic Years 2016/1017. The this research was done in two cycles. Eachcycles is done in five meetings. Each cycle is consist of planning, action,observation, and reflection.
In collecting data, the writer uses test, that are pre-test and post-test,,documentation, observation, and interview. The purposes of pre-test and post-testare to know the students vocabulary mastery before and being given the treatment.
The result in cycle I showed that the average percentage of active students60% and in the cycle 2 is 70%. The average of pre-test and post-test show thatthere is an increase from pre-test and post-test. The average of post-test is higherthan Pre-test and post-test show that there is an increase from Pre-test and post-test. The average of post-test is higher than pre-test. The average pre-test is52.75and the post-test is 69.25. So there is progress 16.5 points. It is clear thatbased on the result pre-test and post-test, it can be said that charades game haspositive increase in learning vocabulary. By usingcharades game as a technique,the students are interested and motivated in following the class. So they enjoydoing the task. It also makes them easier in studying the material. Referring tothe result of the students score above, it can be said that picture has positiveincrease towards the students vocabulary mastery.
