Abstract
Development of educative interaction of Akidah Akhlak teachers and Kewarganegaraan education teachers at the school is highly essential. This means that the development of educative interaction between the teachers and the students is expected to be able to build the students’ character particularly in the madrasa environment, both through learning process and after-school activities. Inthe educative interaction, the teachers and the students interlace the reciprocalrelationship aiming to mature the students in order to be independent, and able tofigure out their self-identity.
This research was aimed at describing: 1) the development of educative interaction of Akidah Akhlak teachers and Kewarganegaraan education teachers in building the students’ character in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri1 Metro. 2)supportingfactors and hindering factors in developing the students’ character inMadrasah Aliyah Negeri1 Metro. 3) the attempts executed by the teachers toovercome the obstacles in the development of educative interaction of AkidahAkhlakteachers and Kewarganegaraaneducation teachersin building the students’character in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri1 Metro.
This research employed the qualitative approach. The data were collectedthrough pbservation, interview, and documentation.
The research participants were the principal, Akidah Akhlak teachers,Kewarganegaraan education teachers and the students.The research findings showed: 1) the implementation of educative interaction of Akidah Akhlak teachers and Kewarganegaraan education teachers in building the students’ character in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri1 Metro was done byrole-modeling. Teachers as both mentor and educatoralso play their roles asmediator and motivator in every single activities oriented to character building,both in class learning process as well as break time and extracurricular activities.2)the teachers’ educative interaction in building the students’ character in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri1 Metro drew supporting and hindering factors. 3) theeducative interaction of teacher and the students in building character in daily lifein Madrasah Aliyah Negeri1 Metro, particularly outside learning hours, was doneexemplifying the good character and in the same time observing the students’around them. The students were monitored and observed while they were playingafter class, because in such time like this, the students were sometime notconscious and therefore show their real character when interacting with their friends.
