Abstract

Increased professionalism of religion teachers is still necessary have a corrective action and optimal guidance so as to achieve as expected, which is capable of more advanced level of professionalism of teachers who have not been certified. Religion teachers who have passed the certification should be able to demonstrate professionalism as well as possible, but there are still some religion teacher‟s certification that has not shown progress. It was marked by the inability of some of the teachers who havebeen certified in holding innovations learning in school.The purpose of this research is to analyze the increase in the professionalism of PAI teachers through a certification program in Junior High Schoolsub-districts Punggur, to analyze the factors thatsupporting an increase in the professionalism of PAI teachers through a certification program in the Junior High School sub-district Punggur, and to analyze the factors that become obstacles improving the professionalism of Religion teachers through the certification program in the Junior High School sub-district Punggur.

The type of this research is Field Research. The datacollection method in this research isusing interviews (interview), observation and documentation. Furthermore, to check the validity of the data the observer uses triangulation techniques. Then to analyze the data, the observerdivide into three components include: the reduction of the data, the data display (presentation of data), and conclusion (verification data).

The results showed that the implementation of the certification program in improving the professionalism of teachers PAI has not fully run as expected. The certification program whose purpose other than improving the lives of teachers, also in order to improve the professionalism it is only the living standards of good he got. Professionalism is still very questionable. It is evident from the research findings that revealed that PAI-certified teachers in the JuniorHigh Schoolsub-district Punggur not meet the criteria of a professional teacher as expected. supporting factors in improving the professionalism of teachers is, the welfare of teachers (salary increases) allowance certification and an award.The effortsto improve the professionalism of teachers could alsoachieved by improving teachers' welfare. Inhibiting factor in improving the professionalism of teachers, namely, inadequate infrastructure, lack of financing and the factors of the teachers themselves are reluctantto develop their potential.
