Abstract

The objective of this research is to know whether of using Comic Stripscan influence the students’ Reading Comprehension at the eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Trimurjo in Academic Year of 2016/2017. In this research the researcher gave pre-test to know how far the students’ reading comprehension and post-test to know the result of the students in reading comprehension after giving the comic strips.

This research is quantitative research design in the form of experimental research. This research was conducted toward 52 students at the Eleventh Gradeof SMA N 1 Trimurjo in the academic year of 2016/2017, in Class XI IPS 3consist of 26 students as the experimental class and XI IPA 4 as 26 students asControl class.The researcher uses test as the data collection method. Toinvestigate whether there is a positive and significant differences study betweenexperimental class and control class. Theresearcher analyzed the data by using ttestformula.

The average score of Experiment class is (27,69) and average score ofControl class is (9,23). It can be concluded that teaching in the experimental classusing Comic Strips gave better result in teaching reading comprehension.Theresult of data analysis using t-test is that t- observation is > t- table in 5% and 1% withthe significant 1,775 <12,64> 2.406. Therefore it can be inferred that Ha isaccepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a positive andsignificant influence on using Comic Strips toward the students’ readingcomprehension at the eleventh graders of SMA N 1 Trimurjo in Academic Year2016/2017.
