Abstract

Character education in addition to being part of the process of moral formation of the nation, is expected to be the main foundation in improving the degree and dignity of the nation's children. Character formation starts from the nature given by God which then form identity and behavior. The process of education is strongly influenced by the environment, so the environment has a large enough role in shaping student identity and behavior. Schools and communities as part of the environment have a very important role.

Character formation obtained through learning, in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darul Hikmah emphasized in the study of the Qur 'an especially Tahfidzul Qur "an. In learning Tahfidzul Qur "an many values that will be studied so as to form thecharacter of good students.

The purpose of this research: 1) To know what strategy used in learning tahfidzul qur'an in MI Darul Hikmah Kalianda Lampung Selatan 2) To know the implementation of learning strategy so that there is change of character of student in MI Darul Hikmah.

This research is field research by using qualitative descriptive approach. This research was conducted in MI Darul Hikmah This research was conducted in January until June 2018. The subjects of this research are Head of MI, Teacher Tahfidz, Guardian of Class, Student and Parent / Guardian of Student. Techniques of collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity techniques use source and method triangulation. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis model, which consists of data reduction,data presentation and conclusion.

The results showed that: First, Learning Strategy of Tahfidzul Qur'an conducted by MI Darul Hikmah is: a) talaqqi that is feedback between teacher and student. b) takrir, which is memorization with teacher guidance and deposited to the teacher. c) muroja'ah, ie by repeating rote together other santri. d) mudarosah, ie, santri memorize by alternating with other friends. e) ie test, rote test to know the smoothness of santri. Second, Implementation of learning strategy of Tahfidzul Qur'an able to change student character to be better.The prominent characters are: religious, honest, discipline, independent, responsibility, clean, istiqomah, patient, polite.
