Abstract
Presidential Regulation number 87 Year 2017 dated September 6, 2017 concerning Character Education Strengthening (PPK) instructs formal, non-formal and informal education institutions to apply Pancasila values in the character of discipline.
Internalization of character values including discipline towards students at schools can be carried out through intracurricular, kokurikuler, and extracurricular activities. The PPK strategy is carried out through classroom-based, school culture, and community-based character education. The use of these activities can be done because students spend most of their time at school in these activities.
Discipline is an attitude and behavior that is very important for students to achieve success. Obedience of each student to the rules will be the cause of orderliness and smooth running of school life. Student discipline is still one of the problems at SMP Negeri 1 Raman Utara,as evidenced by the increasing number of cases of disciplinary violations by students. The question is whether the influence of intracuricular activities and school culture on the discipline of students at SMP Negeri 1 Raman Utara The results of the t-partial test with t-count for the Intracuricular Activity variable 5,610 > 1,97462 (t-table), and the partial test of the significance value of
0,000 < 0,05, then there is a positive and significant influence between Intracuricular Activity on Student Discipline. The t-count value of School Culture variable is 2,045 > 1,97462 (t-table), and t-test with a significance value of 0,043 < 0,05, then there is a positive and significant effect between School Culture on Student Discipline. The magnitude of the influence of each independent variable on the dependent variable is Intracuricular Activity 50,6 percent, and School Culture is 15,4 percent of the discipline of students of SMPN 1 Raman Utara.
Based on the hypothesis test obtained the results of F-count 56,818 > 3,05 (Ftable), and a significance value of 0,000 < 0,05, it can be concluded that there is a simultaneous positive and significant influence between Intracuricular Activities and School Culture on student discipline at SMP Negeri 1 Raman Utara, the magnitude of the influence is shown by the coefficient of determination R2 of 41,1 percent.
The intensity of the implementation of intracuricular activities and the cultivation of disciplinary attitudes and behavior in daily life at SMP Negeri 1 Raman Utara must still be increased so that student discipline problems can be overcome.
