Abstract
Reading is one of the language skills that should be mastered by students after following a set of English instruction in the school. In teaching learning process, the teacher should be able to create or choose the suitable and good strategy. Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) is one of the media that can be applied in the teaching English, especially teaching reading comprehension skill. The objective of the study is to find out whether the use of Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) will be able to effect the students readingg coomprehension skill at the MA Ma’arif NU 05 Sekampung East Lampung.
In this research conducted a quantitative,; the characteristic of the writer is correlated at tenth graders of MA Ma’arif NU 05 Sekampung. The population of this research consist of 28 students. The sample is class XMIA 1 grader of MA Ma’arif NU 05 Sekampung. The established through the purposive cluster sampling technique.
The result of this research showed that Picture Word Inductive Model as media had positive result in effect students’ reading comprehension skill among the tenth graders at MA Ma’arif NU 05 Sekampung. It can be proven by the students’ average score from pre-test and post test. The average score in pre-test was 43,5 and the average score in post-test was 72,2. It mean that the using of Picture Word Inductive Model could effect the students reading comprehension skill.
