Abstract

The purpose of this research to know the effect of using duolingo application on the students’ vocabulary mastery. This research is quantitative research conducted at the tenth grade of SMA N 1 Punggur that involves of 27 students as the samples. This research in data collocation method was using two types of variable, variable independent and dependent. Independen variable is duolingo application and dependent variable is vocabulary mastery. The technique sampling used cluster purposive in sampling.
The research instruments used in this study were multiple choice, composing sentences, and translating words. To determine the effect of using the Duolingo application in learning. Researchers used pre-test and post-test questions to conduct research. The pre-test questions were given before the research and the pre-test questions were given after doing the research.
The data of this research was analyzed by using pre-test and post-test result. , the data confirmed that “tobserved”= 28.147 was higher than “ttable“ level level of significant 5%=1.706 and level of significant 1%= 2.479. therefore, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho rejected. It means There is a positive and significant the effect of “using duolingo application on the students vocabulary mastery of the tenth grade of SMA N 1 Punggur”.
