Abstract

The objective of the research is to find out whether there is any positive and significant effect of using dictation method on the students’ listening skill among the eleventh grader at MA Ma’arif 1 Punggur.

This research is quantitative research. The population of this research was the eleventhgrade students. Thesample of this research were B class as experimental class which consist of35 and A class as control class which consist of35students established through the totalsampling technique. The researcher used test and documentation as the data collecting method. To analyze the data, the researcherused SPSS.

Finding of this research can be concludedof Mann-Whitney Test Sig.(2-tailed) of post test is 0.000<0.05,that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected,there isa positive and significant effect of using dictation methodon the students’ listening skillat the eleventhgraderof MAMa’arif 1 Punggur. The conclusion is dictation method has an effect on the students listening skill.
