Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the use of SCAMPER technique to improve writing skill. The focused on this research is student‟s writing skill. It is related to the problem identification that the students haveinsufficient writing skill.Using SCAMPER technique could help the students to developed their idea to improve their writing skill.

The kind of this research was classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. In this research the students were given pre test before treatment and post test after treatment. The object of this research was 37 students of TKJ 2 of the tenth grade of Vocational High School 1 Negeri katon of the academic year of 2019/2020. In collecting the data the researcher used test (pre test, post test 1 and post test 2), observation, field note, and documentation.

The result of thisresearch shows that there is increasing students writing skill. The increasing can be seen from the average score in pre test, post test 1 and post test 2. The average score of pre test, post test 1, and post test 2 is increase. Based on the result above,can be conclude that the use of SCAMPER technique to improve writing skill of the tenth grade of Vocational High School 1 Negeri Katon of the academic year of 2019/2020 is successful because criteria in this research is achieve well.(Keyword: Writing skill, SCAMPER technique, Classroom action research, Vocational High School 1 Negeri Katon)
