Abstract

Indonesia as a country that has a population with a majority of the status of Islamic religion to date, where before the presence of Islam in Indonesia, the Indonesian people had embraced Hinduism. The process of Islamization of Indonesian society is a proof that Islamic preaching is carried out by the dai or muballigh, both muballighs from the Middle East and India. Islamic Da'wah in Indonesia at the beginning of its presence in Indonesia happened harmoniously without any physical friction and without raising statements to vilify other religions. Indonesian people, who at that time had embraced Hindu religion, moved to convert to Islam in a voluntary way, without intimidation or violence. Harmonious and persuasive da'wah carried out by the da'I in the early days of Islam in Indonesia is a model of da'wah that has been inherited by the Prophet Muhammad. Moreover, the mission of the Prophet SAW was applied to the missionary phase of Medina, where preaching in the city of Medina was not only limited to the delivery and practice in the field of worship and aqidah only.
