Abstract
Islamic boarding schools are one of the educational institutions in Indonesia where students study religion in all its unique ways. Islamic boarding schools can also help students develop their abilities. Communication is one of the mandatory skills that must be possessed by all people who want to be successful in their lives. With communication, someone is able to create an active atmosphere with their social environment. This research wants to know how to improve student communication at the Dar al-Amal Islamic Boarding School. The data collection method uses observation, interviews and documentation with Islamic boarding school ustadz and students. The results of the research state that the method used to improve student communication at the Dar Al-Amal Islamic Boarding School uses the lecture/lecture, question and answer, discussion method showing style and syawir where this activity has been around for a long time with the aim of increasing the students' insight into Islamic teachings and helping students to improve their speaking skills, mentally train students to be more confident in expressing their opinions in front of many people.
