Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the condition of the physical environment of the classroom in tenth grade students at SMAN 1 Punggur as well as to find out the impact of the physical environment on the speaking skills of tenth grade students at SMAN 1 Punggur. This study used qualitative method with descriptive qualitative approach, including observation, interview, and documentation to collect data. The data analysis techniques used in this researcc are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion.

The results showed that the favorable physical environmental conditions, such as lighting, air circulation, cleanliness, noise, and facilities, can significantly affect the learning process, including speaking learning. Regarding the impact of the physical environment on students' speaking skills, it was found that although the impact was not significant, students experienced problems in speaking learning such as mastery of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and speaking fluency.
