Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use instagram media can affect students' ability in writing descriptive text ability on the XI MA Al Ma'arif Pakuan Ratu Way Kanan. In this study, researchers gave test in the form of pre-test to determine students' ability in writing descriptive text and a posttest to find out the results of students in working on descriptive text after using Instagram media.

Instagram media. This research is conducted at the research quantitative MA Al Ma'arif Pakuan Ratu Way Kanan in class XI that students numbered 60 students. The technique used to obtain the sample is cluster random sampling. In the data collection researchers used test. Researchers used the test to obtain data on students through a task to create a descriptive text. This test is used to determine whether students can use instagram media to write descriptive text, then researchers used an analysis is by using t-test.

Finally, the data show that t = 21,353 is greater than the t table = 2,021, with thus it can be concluded that Hi is received and Ho. This shows that the use Instagram media has an influence on students' ability to write descriptive text in class XI MA Al Ma'arif Pakuan Ratu Way Kanan.
