Abstract

This research was aimed to know the level of the influence of using pre questioning technique on students' reading comprehension ability and to fine out in what aspect of reading comprehension that Pre questioning technique can improve. The population of the research was the seventh graders and the subjects of the research were 26 students

Based on the data pre survey, the problems, which had been identified, was had difficulties to comprehend the text because of it's difficult to identify main idea, specific information, and new word in the text. Pre-questioning was helped the students in comprehending the text because this technique helps students in building vocabulary and developing the understandings of text passages. In this case, the writer tried to investigate whether there was influence of using Pre-questioning Technique on the students' reading comprehension.

Furthermore, the writer conducted the quasi experimental design, by applying pretest and post-test as the instrument. In accordance with the method in present research, experimental design, the data was analyzed by using 1-test that enable to investigate the differences between the result of pre-test before treatment and the result of posttest after treatment.
