This studyaimedto determine:(1) achievementof studentslearning Englishby usingthe application oflearning methodswhole-class discussion(2) identifytheachievement ofstudent learningsuccessof the application ofthe methodwhole-classdiscussion. The study was conductedtoeleventh classinSMKPGRI 1 Punggur. Thetools usedfor data collectionwasobservation(observation), andtest(test), this studywas conducted in twolevels(cycles). ineachcycle consistingofplanning(planning),execution(acting), observation(observating) andenrichment/reflection(reflecting).Materialused inthis studyisasimplespeakingmaterialthatcanbe easilyunderstoodbystudentsof class XISMK PGRI 1 Punggur. The teacher givesthe materialbyusing themethod ofwhole-class discussion. Inthis studystudents were giventhe testearly(pre-test) prior to theend ofthe studyandtest(post test) at theend of the study

The method of this research is a class of action research. Data collectiontechniques used is observation, test methods such as student performance, anddocumentation methods. Teacher observation sheet used to assess how teachers usewhole-class discussion method of learning in the classroom, observation activitysheets, and tests about the performance of students in use to assess and determine theclass XI student creativity SMK PGRI 1 Punggur.

Results of the meeting stated that the success of the first cycle of the researchhas not been achieved because the 65 scored less than 80%. In the second cycle, 80%of students scored more than 65. This means that the target of the learning achieved.Based onthe results ofthe researchcan bein the know thatunderstandingstudentslearning Englishespeciallyinspeaking performanceof studentsfromcycletocycleto increase,itcan be seenfromthe averagestudentvalueis64,125from72.20in thefirst cycle tothe second cycle.

Based on these resultsit can be concludedthat theapplication ofthe whole-class discussionmethodlead toa positive impact onstudents'performanceto speakit is evident fromthe eleventh classstudentsspeakingperformance increasing inSMK PGRI 1 Punggur.
