The aim of this study was to discover the teaching and learning activities in MTsN 1 Mesuji Filial during covid pandemic, the problem in teaching and learning process , and the reason to choose Whatsapp as learning media during Covid pandemic. The spread of the covid virus has an impact on the world of education, namely there is an appeal to teach dinstance or online. Whatsapp, YouTube, LMS Google Class Room, and Zoom are just a few of the programs that have emerged as a result of the ongoing development of technology and can be utilized as online learning media. Because WhatsApp is the most popular of all these apps and has a vast range of functions, it is extremely possible for teachers and students to use WhatsApp as a teaching tool during the pandemic. This kind of study used a case study and a descriptive qualitative methodology. In this study, observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation were used as data collection methods. Data collecting, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion are the methods utilized for data analysis. The results of the study show were discovered that (1) Online learning at MTsN 1 Mesuji Filial uses learning methods in the form of giving assignments, learning media used include WhatsApp, LKS books, the internet, or in the form of photos (2) Problems experienced when teaching and problems that arise during the process learning (3) Teachers feel that whatsapp is more effectively used as a learning medium as well.
