Abstract
English language pays an important role in the world, because English is the big language in the world for communication. To use English correctly, we have need much verbs, because verb is crucial in a sentence. Without verb, words in a sentence not have been meaning. Verb give information about occur.
This research was aimed to know the students' verb mastery by using flash cards at SDN 2 Gunung Sari. It was Classroom Action Research (CAR), Mrs. Rahmawati, SE as collaborator in this research. The collecting data used: observation, test (pre-test and post-test), documentation, and field note. While, to analyze the data used qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative was conducted by observation, and quantitative by step by talking the average score of pre-test and post-test.
The average result score of pre-test and post-test shows that there is progressing score. The average score at pre-test = 53.68, in post-test I= 60.63, it was increase 6.95 point. Then, the average score at post-test II = 76.11, it was increase 15.48 point better than post-test I. While the percentages of the students' pass at pre• test = 42.10 % of total students, and at post-test I= 73.68 % and then at post-test II=89.47 % students who able passed the exam. By applying flash cards in learningprocess can increase the students' enthusiasm. Based on the result of observation sheet, the students' activity in the implementation of cycle I and II was very active. It means that flash cards can increase the students' activities. It can be seen on the result of observation sheet. The average the students' activity in cycle I was 52.63 %, the increase to 84.21 % in cycle II.
Finally, teaching English by using flash cards can increase the students' verbs mastery at SDN 2 Gunung Sari. This media make the students are interested and motivated in the class. So, they are easy to remember of verbs.
