Abstract

Writing is one of the important aspects in language learning. By writing, the learners can share information and ideas with others through written text. So that, it needs an appropriate strategy especially in writing recount text. Therefore, Scaffolding Strategy is applied to increase the students text writing performance. The cause of the students deficient in writing English text is the implementing of teaching writing itself used the approach that concern in writing product. The teacher only awaits students' result without guiding them in the process.

The research is a quantitative research, the population of the research was the eleventh graders students' and the sample of the research were 30 students. The researcher conducted true experimental, by applying pretest and post-test as the instrument. The data was analyzed by using t-test that enable to investigate the differences between the result of pre-test before treatment and the result of post-test after treatment.

The result of data analysis illustrates that t observed = 7, 69. Next, t observed is consulted to t lable at the significant level of 5% = 2,048 and 1% = 2,763. Finally, the data confirms t observed is higher than tiable. Thus, it can be inferred that the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and Nul Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It means that there is positive and significant influence of using Peer Scaffolding Strategy toward the students'writing performance at the eleventh graders of SMA Kesuma Bhakti Lampung Tengah.
