Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used by English teachers in teaching listening skills to students, identify barriers to teaching listening skills, and identify effective strategies for teaching listening skills at Ikhsan Pancasila Junior High School. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews, and documentation. In addition, several sources from journals and books related to this paper were also used. The analytical techniques used in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This thesis discussed the strategies used by teachers at Ikhsan Pancasila Junior High School in teaching listening, the obstacles encountered in teaching listening, and the most effective media or strategies for teaching listening. In conclusion, the author found that the most effective strategy in teaching listening is using visual media, specifically video. The results of this study emphasized how important to choose effective methods for improving students' listening skill. the writer hoped that this research would help English teachers create engaging and successful listening lessons.
