Abstract

The using of textbook as a source of learning can not be denied. Textbook provides many facilities, especially materials, to help teachers and students in the teaching learning process. The English textbook is one kind of textbooks. The elements which are disseminated on English textbook are the important points. Learning English means the students no only learn about the linguistics aspects, but also the religious aspects. Moreover, a students have to get a religious value in the teaching learning proces. The religious value can not be separated from our life because there are so many values in the religious, is that a moral value, manner, and others. The purpose of this research is to find out the religious value in English textbook.

This research is qualitative research. The data was coUected from the English textbook for the X grade of Senior High School 1 Kotagajah. This research uses documentation and observation as data collection technique. Then, the writer analyzes the data by Miles and Huberman analysis technique.

The findings research is the religious value in the English textbook integrate in unbalanced way. The spiritual value gets 25%, the moral value gets 18%, the mental value gets 2%, and then it is followed by the empathy and emotional value is 25%, and the last social value is 30%. It can be conclude that the values in the religious value have not presented in the balanced way. The social value is the most salient value which is disseminated into English textbook.
