Abstract
Pronunciation is important part of speaking English. In order to, the students must have good pronunciation to understand the English conversation or to communicate by using English, especially for young learners. They must learn since the children. It can help them to make easy learning pronunciation, because the children can record much learning. In fact, based on the pre survey data, many students got error pronunciation. As a result, the teacher needs a technique in learning pronunciation to solve this problem. And guessing game is being able to be the choice in teaching English pronunciation. It can make fun learning in teaching Elementary school. The objective of the study was to find out whether guessing game can improve the students' pronunciation performance at Elementary schools 2 Trimulyo. In the pre-survey, shown that there were 3 students from 27 students of the fifth graders got more than the score minimum that is 65. The researcher used classroom action research (CAR) that was done in two cycles. In every cycle consisted of plan, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of the research was students of the fifth graders in academic year 2012/2013 consisting of 27 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used test, observation, and documentation. The researcher was collaborated with the teacher of Elementary Schools 2 Trimulyo. The result of the research showed that there was an increasing from pre test and post test. In the first cycle, the average score of students' product were from 23 students (85.18%) at cycle I and 27 students (100%) at cycle II got score more than 65. The score minimum of the Elementary Schools 2 Trimulyo was 65. While the increasing of students' process were 19 students (70.4%) in cycle I increased to 24 students (88.62%) at cycle II. It means that the result at cycle II already reached the indicator, that is 80% students get score 65 or more and the students were more active in learning process. The Conclusion the research is guessing game can improve pronunciation performance of Elementary schools 2 Trimulyo.
