Abstract
Many students do not know how important the English language for them. Sometimes the students feel English is difficult and feel bored with the techniques that used by the teacher, in this case the teacher need the techniques in order the students can received and understand with the material. The primary goal of this research are to find which one of the techniques between Think-Pair Share (TPS) and Solve-Pair Share (SPS) techniques toward the students' speaking performance and is there any significant differences between TPS and SPS technique toward the students' speaking performance. Because English as an international language that have to master to communicate, the students have to enrich vocabularies as much as possible and high motivation to progress achievement.
The method used in this study is known as quantitative research and detailed information has been acquired by the authors using t-test. The researcher used two classes. One class was taught using the TPS technique and the other class was taught using the SPS technique.
This findings of the research have led the author to the conclusion that lobserved 2.881 was higher than table 2.077. Therefore, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means that there was significant differences between TPS and SPS techniques toward the students' speaking performance at the eleventh grade of SMK PGRI 1 Punggur Central Lampung in academic year 1434 H/2013 M.
