Abstract
This study aims to determine whether the use of tiktok application has a positive and significant effect on students' mastery of vocabulary. Students face problems in vocabulary limitation, as well as difficulties to learn English. Therefore, this study aims to explore how the TikTok application can have an effect on students' vocabulary mastery.
This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design.The sample of this study used one class, namely class VII E consisting of 30 students. To test the hypothesis, researchers used an independent sample t-test to determine whether the proposed hypothesis was accepted or rejected.
Based on the results to answer the research questions, the data were analyzed using t-test. The results showed that the average pre-test score in the class was 61.5 and increased to 73.16 in the post-test. After conducting the Independent Sample t-test test with SPSS, the sig (2-tailed) result of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained, which shows that the use of the tiktok application has a positive and significant effect on the vocabulary mastery of students in class VIII E SMP N 11 Pesawaran.
