Abstract

The objective of this research is to know whether the picture can influence toward students' reading comprehension,because there are many students have difficult to comprehend of reading text the students must understanding texts content of reading. The Object Of this was 38 students of eight grade D SMPN 3 Metro Lampung in the academic year 2013/2014.

In collecting data, the writer Was test, that were pre-test and post-test, The purposes of pre-test and are to know the students' reading comprehension before and given the treatment. The average of pre-test and post-test show that there is an influence from pre-test and the average of post-test is higher than pre-test.

Moreover, the result of data analysis illustrates that t = 3.57 and is categorized into high influence. Next, t observed is consulted to t of the significant level of 5% = 2.03 and 1% 2.73. Finally, the data confirms t is higher that t table. Than, it can be inferred that the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. There is positive and significant the influence of text with picture toward students' reading comprehension at the eight grade of state junior high number 3 of metro in academic year 2013/2014

By using text with picture as media, the students were interested and motivated in following the class. so they enjoy doing the task. It also makes them easier in studying the material.

Refer-ring to the result Of the students score above, it can be said that text with picture has positive influence toward students' comprehension.
