Abstract
Speaking is the important aspect in teaching learning in foreign language, and speaking use active in language to express the meaning or sharing the meaning so the other people can make sense of them and they can communicate to other by speaking. Speaking is difficult skill that students to master because mastery speaking is about fluency, pronounciation, vocabulary, grammatical accuracy and interactional strategies or performance, so it is need a suitable strategy to teach or learn it. Strategy that can be used is using video as media to teach in teaching learning process.
The objective of this research is to know whether of using video can influence the students' speaking performance at the tenth graders of state senior high school l Punggur Central Lampung. In this research the researcher gave pre-test to know bow far the capability of students' speaking performance and post-test to know the result of the students' speaking performance after using video in teaching learning process in the class.
This research was conducted toward 30 students among the tenth graders of state senior high school 1 Punggur Central Lampung in the academic year of 2016/2017, this research is quantitative research design in the form of experimental research. The researcher uses the test as the data collecting method. To investigate whether there is a positive and significant differences study between before and after give the treatment. The researcher analyzed data by using t-test formula. The average score of post-test is 81. It can be concluded that after giving treatment by using video students get increase score in speaking performance. The result of data analysis illustrates that t-observed = 13.10 and t-abte 5%= 2.045 and 1% = 2.756. Finally, the data confirms t-absrea is higher that t-abte. Thus, it can be inferred that the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence of using video at the tenth graders of SMA Negeri 1 Punggur.
